Trusting the power, authority, and victory found in the name of Jesus
Scripture References (NIV):
• Philippians 2:9–10 — “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…”
• Psalm 89:8 — “Who is like you, Lord God Almighty? You, Lord, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.”
Devotion:
I Know A Name is a declaration of confidence in the unmatched power of Jesus Christ. When the song proclaims that His name can silence roaring waves and empty out empty graves, it reminds us that the authority of Jesus reaches into every situation. His name carries power over chaos, fear, sickness, and death. When we call on His name, we are not speaking empty words. We are invoking the presence of the risen Savior who reigns in power and responds with strength, peace, and victory.
The lyrics continue, “I call You Jesus, I call You healer, I call You savior,” revealing the many dimensions of who He is. Jesus is not limited to one role in our lives. He is everything we need. He heals what is broken, saves what is lost, restores what is damaged, and strengthens what is weak. He is risen, reigning, and active in the lives of His people. When we call on Him, we are calling on the One who has never been defeated and never will be.
As you reflect today, remember that you know a name that changes everything. Speak His name over your circumstances, your family, your health, and your future. Jesus is mighty. Jesus is faithful. Jesus is present. His name carries authority, and His power is unmatched. When you call on Him, heaven responds and victory begins to unfold.

Prayer:
Lord, I call on Your name today. Thank You for being healer, savior, redeemer, and King. Thank You that Your name carries power, authority, and victory. Strengthen my faith to speak Your name with confidence and to trust in the power that belongs to You alone. Amen.
