Keep Holding On,
It Won’t Be Long
3 Minute Read

Inspired by:
“Only For A Moment”
Danny Gokey

Focus:
Even when difficult seasons seem endless, God’s promises give us strength to keep holding on.

Scripture References:

2 Corinthians 4:17 (KJV)

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;”

Psalm 30:5 (KJV)

“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

Devotion:
Have you ever walked through a season that seemed to have no ending? Perhaps you have been waiting for healing, grieving a loss, facing financial difficulties, or praying for something that has yet to change. When the days feel long and answers seem distant, holding on can become exhausting. We may wonder how much longer we can endure. Yet Scripture reminds us that our present struggles are not the final chapter of our story. Through Jesus Christ, we have a hope that reaches beyond what we are experiencing today.

The Apostle Paul reminds us that our earthly troubles are temporary compared to the eternal glory God has prepared. This does not minimize our pain or suggest that every hardship will end quickly. It reminds us that suffering does not have the final word. God’s promises remain trustworthy, even when His timing differs from our expectations. The same Lord who comforts us through seasons of weeping is faithful to sustain us while we wait.

Today, give yourself permission to acknowledge what hurts without surrendering your hope. Continue praying, receive encouragement, and trust God for the strength you need right now. You may not know when circumstances will change, but you can remain confident in His eternal promises. Keep holding on, it won’t be long compared to the glory that awaits us in Christ.

Personal Reflections:
1. Have I allowed the length or difficulty of my current season to weaken my confidence in God’s promises?
2. What can I do today to strengthen my faith and encourage myself while waiting on God’s timing?

Prayer:
Father, thank You for being faithful through every difficult season. You know the burdens I carry, the tears I have cried, and the answers I am still waiting to receive. When discouragement rises, strengthen my heart through Your promises. Help me remember that my present struggles cannot compare to the eternal hope I have in Jesus. Give me patience to trust Your timing, courage to keep moving forward, and peace while I wait. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action Steps:
1. Say aloud: I will keep holding on to God’s promises. My present circumstances will not steal my hope because my future is secure in Jesus Christ. 2. Identify one situation that has tested your patience or faith. Read 2 Corinthians 4:17, pray over that concern, and write down one promise from Scripture that will encourage you to persevere.
3. Share this devotion, song, and MyLINKS with someone.

Remember:
The length of your struggle does not determine the faithfulness of God, and your present pain cannot erase His eternal promises. Keep trusting Jesus, knowing that what you face today is not the end of your story. Keep Holding On, It Won’t Be Long, Because Eternal Glory Awaits in Christ.
