“Awesome”
Charles Jenkins & Fellowship
Focus:
Celebrating the God who saves, protects, sustains, and reigns with unmatched power
Scripture References (NIV):
• Psalm 46:1 — “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
• Hebrews 7:25 — “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.”
evotion:
Awesome is a declaration of who God has always been—mighty, faithful, and unmatched in power. When the song proclaims, “My God is awesome, He can move mountains, keep me in the valley, hide me from the rain,” it reminds us that God is both powerful and personal. He is strong enough to move what stands in our way, yet gentle enough to shelter us in seasons of difficulty. His awesomeness is not distant. It is active. It is present. It is working in every detail of our lives.
The song continues, “Savior of the whole world, giver of salvation,” pointing us back to the greatest demonstration of His love—Jesus Christ. He did not simply rescue us from trouble; He rescued us from sin, darkness, and eternal separation. His salvation is complete, His mercy is endless, and His grace is sufficient. When we declare that God is awesome, we acknowledge that there is no one like Him. No one saves like Him. No one keeps like Him. No one covers, protects, or provides like Him.
As you reflect today, let your heart rise in gratitude for the God who has carried you through valleys, shielded you from storms, and saved your life more times than you can count. He is awesome in power, awesome in love, and awesome in every season. Lift your voice, lift your faith, and lift your expectation. Your God is truly awesome.
Reflection:
1. Where have you seen the awesomeness of God demonstrated in your life
2. How can you honor Him today as your Savior, Protector, and Provider
