“I Break”
Jekalyn Carr

Focus:
Through the power of Jesus Christ, we can confront what holds us back and walk in the freedom He provides.

Scripture References:

2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV)

“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)”

John 8:36 (KJV)

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

Devotion:
What have you been allowing to remain in your life that God is calling you to release? Perhaps it is fear that keeps you from moving forward, unforgiveness that continues to burden your heart, or negative thoughts that have convinced you change is impossible. Sometimes the greatest obstacles are not the circumstances surrounding us, but the patterns, attitudes, and beliefs we have allowed to take root within us. Recognizing these strongholds is an important step toward surrendering them to Jesus.

Scripture reminds us that our spiritual weapons are mighty through God for pulling down strongholds. We are not called to overcome spiritual battles through determination alone. Through Christ, we have access to His truth, strength, and transforming grace. Freedom begins with acknowledging what needs to change, bringing it before God, and allowing His Word to challenge what has held us captive. Some struggles require continued prayer, accountability, and intentional choices, but we can face them with confidence in His power.

Today, make a decision to stop agreeing with anything that contradicts God’s truth about your life. Surrender the fear, resentment, destructive habits, or limiting beliefs that have hindered your spiritual growth. Ask Jesus to renew your thinking and guide your actions. Today it has to fall, because what holds me captive cannot remain my master when I surrender to Christ.

Personal Reflections:
1. What fear, unhealthy pattern, or attitude have I allowed to remain in my life that is preventing me from walking more fully in the freedom of Christ?
2. What intentional step can I take today to surrender that struggle to Jesus and begin replacing it with His truth?

Prayer:
Father, thank You for the freedom available through Jesus Christ. Reveal anything in my heart or life that has kept me bound by fear, resentment, or unhealthy patterns. Give me courage to confront what needs to change and humility to surrender it to You. Renew my mind through Your Word and strengthen me to walk in obedience. Help me reject every lie that contradicts Your truth and trust Your power to transform my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action Steps:
1. Say aloud: Today it has to fall! Through Jesus Christ, I will confront what has held me back, surrender it to God, and walk in the freedom of His truth.
2. Identify one thought, habit, or attitude that needs to change. Write it down, pray over it, and choose one Scripture-based action that begins replacing that pattern with obedience to Christ.
3. Share this devotion, song, and MyLINKS with someone.

Remember:
You do not have to remain controlled by what Jesus has given you the power to confront and surrender. Freedom grows as you continue walking in His truth and depending on His strength. Today It Has To Fall, Because Jesus Has Called Me To Walk In Freedom.
