Because He’s Done Great Things

“I Will Bless The Lord”

Focus:
Choosing to bless the Lord continually because of His great works and unfailing goodness
Scripture References (NIV):
• Psalm 103:2 — “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits.”
• Luke 1:49 — “For the Mighty One has done great things for me—holy is his name.”
Devotion:
Praise is not optional, it is essential. Byron Cage’s I Will Bless The Lord reminds us that worship flows from remembering what God has done. When we recall His great works of healing, provision, protection, salvation—our soul cannot stay silent.
To bless the Lord “at all times” means we do not wait for perfect conditions. We praise Him in the valley and on the mountaintop, in the waiting and in the breakthrough. Gratitude fuels worship, and worship fuels strength. Today, let your soul rise in praise—not just for what He has done, but because He is worthy.
Reflection:
1. What “great thing” has God done in your life that you can bless Him for today?
2. How can you remind your soul to worship even when circumstances feel heavy?
Prayer:
Lord, You have done great things for me, and I will bless You at all times. With all that is within me, I give You praise. Let my worship be continual, my gratitude unshakable, and my soul ever mindful of Your goodness. Amen.
Action steps:
1. Write down three great things God has done for you—thank Him for each.
2. Say aloud: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, for He has done great things for me.”
3. Share this devotion and the song “I Will Bless The Lord” with someone who needs encouragement to worship.
Remember:
Praise is the soul’s response to God’s greatness—make it continual.
