“Jesus I Love You”
Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir
Focus: Loving Jesus not because of our goodness, but because of His constant care and unfailing presence
Scripture References (NIV):
• Psalm 73:23–24 — “Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel…”
• 1 John 4:19 — “We love because he first loved us.”
Devotion:
Jesus I Love You reminds us that our love for Christ is not rooted in our perfection, our faithfulness, or our goodness. It is rooted in His. The song declares, “Not because I have been so faithful, not because I have been so good,” and those words speak for every believer. Jesus has always been there for us, even in moments when we were inconsistent, distracted, or struggling. His love has remained steady, His presence has remained near, and His care has remained constant. We love Him because He has loved us with a love that never changes.
There is a deep humility in acknowledging that Jesus has carried us through seasons we did not have the strength to endure. He has held us when life felt overwhelming, guided us when our path was unclear, and comforted us when our hearts were heavy. When the song says, “Because You care, I could not imagine if You were not there,” it captures the truth that His presence is our anchor. Without Him, life would feel empty, directionless, and unstable. With Him, we have hope, peace, and purpose.
Our love for Jesus grows from gratitude. It grows from remembering how many times He has rescued us, restored us, and reassured us. It grows from knowing that He has never left us alone. Today, let your heart rest in the truth that Jesus cares for you deeply and personally. Let your love rise not from obligation, but from the overwhelming awareness that He has always been there.

1. How has Jesus shown His care for you in a personal way
2. What does loving Jesus sincerely look like in your daily life

Lord, I love You because You care for me. Thank You for being faithful even when I have not been. Thank You for staying near, guiding me, and holding me through every season. Help me to love You with sincerity, gratitude, and devotion. I could not imagine my life without You. Amen.
