I Have Been Redeemed

“Simply Redeemed”

Focus:
Celebrating redemption in Christ, not because of perfection, but because of His grace
Scripture References (NIV):
• Ephesians 1:7 — “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”
• Romans 3:23–24 — “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”
Devotion:
Isaac Carree’s Simply Redeemed tells us that redemption is not about perfection, it is about grace. We are far from flawless, yet Christ’s sacrifice covers our imperfections. Redemption means we are bought back, restored, and forgiven, not because we earned it, but because He gave it.
This truth frees us from striving for perfection and anchors us in gratitude. Being “simply redeemed” is enough—it means we belong to Him, we are forgiven, and we are loved. Today, rest in the assurance that your worth is not in your perfection, but in His redemption.
Reflection:
1. How does remembering that you are “simply redeemed” change the way you view your imperfections?
2. In what ways can you live out gratitude for redemption in your daily walk?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that even though I am far from perfect, I have been redeemed. Thank You for the blood of Jesus that covers my sins and restores me. Help me to live each day in gratitude for Your grace. Amen.
Action steps:
1. Write down one area where you’ve struggled with imperfection and thank God for redeeming it.
2. Say aloud: “I am far from perfect, but I am redeemed.”
3. Share this devotion and the song “Simply Redeemed” with someone who needs encouragement.
Remember:
Redemption is not earned, it is given. You are simply redeemed.
