Inspired by:
“I Am God”
Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City Singers
Focus:
Resting in the truth that God is all seeing, all knowing, all powerful, and eternally sovereign
Scripture References (NIV):
• Revelation 1:8 — “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
• Psalm 147:5 — “Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.”
Devotion:
The message of “I Am God” clearly assures us that we serve a God who is unmatched in power, wisdom, and authority. He is all seeing, all knowing, all mighty, and all powerful. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Nothing escapes His vision, nothing confuses His understanding, and nothing challenges His sovereignty. He is God, and He stands alone.
Throughout Scripture, God reveals Himself through His names, each one unveiling a different dimension of His character. He is El Shaddai (God Almighty), Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Who Provides), Jehovah Shalom (The Lord Is Peace), El Roi (The God Who Sees Me), Jehovah Rapha (The Lord Who Heals), and Jehovah Nissi (The Lord My Banner). These names are not titles alone. They are testimonies of who He has always been and who He continues to be in our lives.
When life feels overwhelming or uncertain, we can anchor ourselves in the truth that God is fully aware, fully present, and fully in control. He sees every detail. He knows every need. He holds all power in His hands. We do not serve a distant God. We serve a God who reigns with authority and cares with compassion.
Today, rest in the assurance that the God who is all seeing and all powerful is watching over you. Trust His wisdom. Lean into His strength. Worship Him for who He is. He is God, and He understands every part of your journey.
Reflection:
1. Which name of God speaks most deeply to your current season
2. How does remembering God’s power and sovereignty strengthen your faith today
Prayer:
Lord, I honor You as the all seeing, all knowing, all powerful God. Thank You for revealing Yourself through Your names and through Your presence in my life. Strengthen my trust in Your sovereignty and remind me daily that You are the Alpha and the Omega. I rest in who You are. Amen.
Action Steps:
1. Speak one name of God aloud today and meditate on its meaning.
2. Write down one area where you will trust God’s power and wisdom.
3. Share this devotion and the message of I Am God with someone who needs encouragement.
Remember:
God is all seeing, all knowing, all powerful, and eternally in control. He is God, and He reigns.
