Focus:
Loving God because He hears, responds, and delivers His children
Scripture References (NIV):
• Psalm 116:1–2 — “I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.”
• Psalm 34:17 — “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.”
Devotion:
I Love The Lord is a heartfelt reminder that our love for God is rooted in His faithfulness toward us. The psalmist declares, “He heard my cry,” and those words echo through every believer’s life. God does not ignore our pain, overlook our tears, or dismiss our struggles. He bends His ear toward us. He listens with compassion. He responds with power. When we cry out, He moves. When we call on Him, He comes near. This is why we love Him—because He has proven Himself to be a God who hears.
There have been moments when you cried out from a place of heaviness, uncertainty, or desperation, and God answered you. He lifted you when you felt weak. He comforted you when your heart was overwhelmed. He delivered you from situations that could have destroyed you. His presence has been your refuge, and His mercy has been your covering. Loving God becomes natural when you remember how many times He has carried you through what you could not handle alone.
Because God hears, we can trust Him. Because He responds, we can rest in Him. Because He delivers, we can walk in confidence. Loving the Lord is not just an emotional expression. It is a response to His character, His compassion, and His consistency. Today, let your heart be reminded that every cry you have ever lifted has reached the ears of a faithful God. He heard you then, and He hears you now.
Reflection:
1. When has God heard your cry and brought you through
2. How can you express your love and gratitude to Him today
Prayer:
Lord, I love You because You heard my cry. Thank You for turning Your ear toward me and delivering me from places I could not escape on my own. Help me to trust You more deeply and to remember that You are always near when I call. Amen.
