Focus:
Using God‑given authority to speak to every storm and stand firm in His power
Scripture References (NIV):
• Mark 4:39 — “He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.”
• Luke 10:19 — “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”
Devotion:
“I Told The Storm” lets us know that as children of God, we do not face storms silently or helplessly. God has given us authority through His word and through the name of Jesus Christ. We can speak to the storm. We can command it to move. We can declare that it will not last, it will not break us, and it will not have the final say.
Storms come in many forms: fear, sickness, confusion, financial pressure, emotional heaviness, or spiritual attack. Yet every storm must bow to the voice of God. When God speaks, the wind ceases. When God commands, the waves settle. When God releases His word, peace replaces chaos.
There is power in declaring God’s truth over your situation. You are not speaking from your own strength. You are speaking from His authority. You are not commanding in your own name. You are commanding in His. The storm may rise, but it cannot remain. The storm may roar, but it cannot win. God has already established victory, and every storm must submit to His voice.
Today, stand boldly and speak to whatever storm is trying to shake your life. Declare that it must pass. Declare that it cannot last. Declare that God has the final word. When He speaks, everything must cease.
Reflection:
1. What storm in your life do you need to speak to with God‑given authority
2. How can you use God’s word to silence fear and strengthen your faith today
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for giving me authority through Your word. Strengthen me to speak boldly to every storm in my life. Remind me that when You speak, everything must cease. I stand in Your power, Your peace, and Your victory. Amen.
Action Steps:
1. Speak this aloud today: “Storm, you must pass. God has the final word.”
2. Write down one scripture you will declare over your situation this week.
3. Share this devotion and the song “I Told The Storm” with someone who needs to be reminded of their God-given authority to speak to their storm.
Remember:
Every storm must bow to the voice of God. Speak with authority and stand in His peace.
