I Was Born To Praise

12/14/25, 1:00 PM

Inspired by:
“Praise Is What I Do”
William Murphy

Focus:
Choosing praise as a lifestyle, not just a response to circumstances

Scripture References (NIV):

• Psalm 34:1 — “I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.”

• Hebrews 13:15 — “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.”

Devotion:
Praise Is What I Do reminds us that praise is not conditional—it is foundational. Life may bring challenges, disappointments, and pain, but praise outweighs the bad. Praise is not just what we say; it i s who we are. We were created to glorify God, and worship is our natural response to His goodness.

When we vow to praise no matter the circumstance, we declare that God is greater than our situation. Praise shifts our focus from problems to the One who holds the solution. Today, let your praise rise above your trials. Remember: you were born to praise, and nothing can silence that calling.

Reflection:
1. How can you make praise your first response instead of your last resort?
2. What does it mean for you personally to live as someone “born to praise”?

Prayer:
Lord, I vow to praise You no matter my circumstance. My praise outweighs my bad, because You are greater than anything I face. Thank You for creating me to worship You. Let my life reflect that I was born to praise. Amen.

Action steps:
1. Speak Psalm 34:1 aloud as a declaration over your day.
2. Say aloud: “I was born to praise.”
3. Share this devotion and the song “Praise Is What I Do” with someone who needs encouragement to worship through their circumstances.

Remember:
Praise is not situational—it’s your identity. You were born to praise.
