Love That Transforms the Heart

1/9/26, 1:00 PM

Inspired by:
“Love”
God’s Chosen

Focus:
Understanding the depth of God’s love and responding with a life of gratitude

Scripture References (NIV):

• 1 John 4:19 — “We love because he first loved us.”

• Jeremiah 31:3 — “The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.’”

Devotion:
God’s Chosen’s song “Love” lets us know that true love begins with God. Before we ever knew how to love, God revealed His heart to us through Jesus Christ. He showed us compassion, mercy, patience, and sacrifice. He demonstrated what real love looks like, not through words alone, but through action, care, and unwavering faithfulness.

When we say, “I love You Lord today,” it is not simply an emotional expression. It is a response to the love God has already poured into our lives. He has cared for us in ways no one else could. He has lifted us, healed us, forgiven us, and walked with us through every season. His love is personal, intentional, and everlasting.

God’s love transforms us. It softens what was hardened, restores what was broken, and awakens what was dormant. It teaches us how to love others with grace, patience, and sincerity. When we experience the love of Jesus, we learn what it truly means to love beyond feelings, beyond convenience, and beyond ourselves.

Today, pause and reflect on the special ways God has cared for you. Let gratitude rise. Let love flow back to the One who loved you first and loves you best.

Reflection:
1. How has God shown His love to you in a personal and meaningful way
2. What is one way you can express God’s love to someone else today

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for showing me what real love looks like through Jesus Christ. Thank You for caring for me in ways that only You can. Fill my heart with gratitude and teach me to love others with the same grace and compassion You have shown me. Amen.

Action Steps:
1. Speak this aloud today: “I love You Lord because You first loved me.”
2. Write down one way God has cared for you in a special way.
3. Share this devotion and the message of “Love” with someone who needs encouragement.

Remember:
God’s love is everlasting, personal, and transforming. We love Him because He loved us first.
