The Battle Is Not Yours

12/28/25, 1:00 PM

Inspired by:
“The Battle Is the Lord’s”
Yolanda Adams

Focus:
Trusting God to fight our battles and resting in His victory

Scripture References (NIV):

• 2 Chronicles 20:15 — “He said: ‘Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.’”

• Exodus 14:14 — “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Devotion:
Yolanda Adams’ The Battle Is the Lord’s reminds us that we are not alone in the struggles we face. Life’s battles—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—are too great for us to fight in our own strength. But the good news is this: the battle belongs to the Lord.

When we surrender our fears and struggles to Him, He steps in with power and victory. Our role is not to fight in our own strength but to trust, stand firm, and watch God move. Today, release your battles into His hands and rest in the assurance that He has already won.

Reflection:
1. What battle are you facing today that you need to surrender to God?
2. How can you practice being still and trusting Him to fight for you?

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that the battle is Yours. Help me to trust You with my struggles and to rest in Your victory. I choose to stand firm in faith, knowing You will fight for me. Amen.

Action steps:
1. Write down one battle you are facing—pray and release it to God today.
2. Say aloud: “The battle is not mine, it’s the Lord’s.”
3. Share this devotion and the song “The Battle Is the Lord’s” with someone who needs encouragement to trust God in their struggles.

Remember:
The battle is not yours, it belongs to the Lord, and He never loses.
