The Source of My Joy

11/29/25, 1:00 PM

Inspired by:
“Center of My Joy”
Ruben Studdard

Focus: Recognizing God as the source of every good and perfect gift, and the center of lasting joy

Scripture References (NIV):

• James 1:17 — “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."

• Psalm 16:11 — “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”

Devotion:
True joy is not found in possessions, achievements, or fleeting moments—it’s found in the presence of God. Ruben Studdard’s Center of My Joy reminds us that all that is good and perfect flows from Him. He is the steady source when life feels unstable, the light when darkness tries to settle, and the peace when storms rage.

When God is the center, joy is not dependent on circumstances—it becomes a constant. Today, let your heart rest in the truth that He is the giver of every good gift. Let Him be the center of your joy, the anchor of your hope, and the source of your strength.

Reflection:
1. What good and perfect gifts from God can you recognize in your life today?
2. How can you keep Him at the center of your joy, even in challenging seasons?

Prayer:
Lord, You are the center of my joy. Thank You for every good and perfect gift You’ve given me. Fill me with Your presence and remind me that lasting joy is found only in You. Amen.

Action steps:
1. Write down three gifts from God that bring you joy and thank Him for each one.
2. Say aloud: “All that’s good and perfect comes from You.”
3. Share this devotion and the song “Center of My Joy” with someone who needs encouragement to find joy in God.

Remember:
Joy is not circumstantial—it is Christ-centered.
