Worship Beyond the Wins

11/28/25, 1:00 PM

Inspired by:
“Just for Who You Are”
Earnest Pugh

Focus: Honoring God not only for His works, but for His unchanging character and eternal worth

Scripture References (NIV):

• Psalm 29:2 — “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.”

• Habakkuk 3:17–18 — “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines… yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.”

Devotion:
Earnest Pugh’s Just for Who You Are reminds us that true worship is not tied to outcomes—it is tied to identity. We should not praise God only when prayers are answered or victories are visible. We should praise Him because He is holy, faithful, and worthy.

When worship flows from who He is, not just what He does, it becomes unshakable. Even in seasons of waiting, loss, or silence, our praise remains. Today, lift your voice and heart—not for blessings received, but for the Blesser Himself. Worship beyond the wins, because His worth is eternal.

Reflection:
1. How can you shift your gratitude from what God has done to who He is?
2. What does it mean for you to worship even in seasons without visible victories?

Prayer:
Lord, I give You glory, honor, and praise—not just for what You have done, but for who You are. You are holy, faithful, and worthy. Let my worship rise beyond circumstances and reflect Your eternal worth. Amen.

Action steps:
1. Write down three attributes of God (e.g., faithful, holy, merciful) and praise Him for each.
2. Say aloud: “I worship You—not for victories won, but just for who You are.”
3. Share this devotion and the song “Just for Who You Are” with someone who needs encouragement to worship beyond circumstances.

Remember:
Worship isn’t conditional it is eternal. God is worthy, just for who He is.
